The partnership between Rajamouli and Keeravani started with their joint creation in "Student No. 1" (2001). Since then, it has become one of the best and successful partnerships between a director and a composer in the Indian cinema.
Over the past two decades, this duo has created remarkable background scores and music for such movies as Simhadri, Sye, Chatrapathi, Vikramarkudu, Yamadonga, Magadheera, Maryada Ramanna, Eega, Baahubali: The Beginning, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion and RRR. In all of those movies, Keeravani's scores were a major component of their success and helped to create the emotional atmosphere of the movies.
The collaboration between Rajamouli and Keeravani has gained international recognition due to winning such awards as Academy Awards and Golden Globe for the song "Naatu Naatu" featured in the movie RRR.
Rajamouli and Keeravani have managed to create a benchmark for director-composer collaborations, bringing both commercial success and critically praised scores.
Nowadays, Rajamouli and Keeravani are working on another movie titled Varanasi with Mahesh Babu. According to the reports, it will be the dream project of Rajamouli. The movie will be based on the Ramayana but also contain elements of action-adventure genre.
